Felicity Sklavos

Felicity completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Optometry) degree with First Class Honours from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2006. She obtained her Post-Graduate Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics from QUT in 2010. Most recently, she has completed the Certificate in Children’s Vision through the Australian College of Optometry, Victoria, in 2021. Felicity is therapeutically qualified, allowing her to prescribe ophthalmic medicines, and has a strong interest in paediatric eye care, myopia control and specialty contact lenses. She is an aligned optometrist with the Queensland Children’s Hospital, where she also currently works part time. Felicity’s professional experience ranges from rural independent practice, to metropolitan clinical ophthalmology and private practice. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and outdoor activities with her young family.

Melissa Baker

Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and training to Fresh Vision Optometrists. Melissa is a qualified optical dispenser and mechanic, and provides an exceptional customer service experience for all of our patients. After taking time off to support her husband in his military service and raise their daughter, Melissa has recently returned to optics. We’re proud to be able to provide cutting-edge optometry to the residents of Everton Park, Everton Hills, McDowall, Stafford, Bridgeman Downs, Enoggera, Alderley, Mitchelton and surrounds.

Julie Higgins

Julie joined the Optometry industry in 2013 after 23 years as an Australia Post employee. Since joining the optical world, she has worked as an Optical Dispenser and front office team member for a Behavioural Optometrist on the Brisbane northside. In 2017 she obtained her qualification as a Vision Therapist through the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometry. Her role as Vision Therapist allows her the opportunity to help adults and children alike, to retrain their visual system and brain to work more effectively together. Julie has a 15 year old son, 1 Mini Dachshund, 2 cats, 1 budgie and so understands the challenges that life throws us as a working parent. Since joining Fresh Vision in March 2021, she has taken on the role as Practice Manager. “I am so excited to have had to opportunity to join such an amazing and welcoming team of people. I am blessed to be able to assist Brett to grow a practice that can guide and support customers with their visual needs. The customer at Fresh Vision are just beautiful people and I look forward to going to work every day”.

Brett Jenkinson

Brett graduated with his Optometry degree from the University of Melbourne in 2001.  Since then he has practiced in rural and metropolitan Queensland and Hobart.  He has been actively involved in professional affairs, being a past president of Optometry Tasmania and since 2017 a Director of Provision Eyecare which is an orginisation that provides support to independent Optometry practices.

Brett established Fresh Vision Optometrists in 2017 when he returned to Brisbane to take over the long standing practice of Kay and David Webster in Everton Park and expanded it to Maroochydore in 2019 when he purchased Brian Davey successful practice there.
