Sophie Wellington

Sophie began working in optics as an optical dispenser in 2017. She graduated as a therapeutically endorsed Optometrist with a Masters in Optometry from Flinders University in 2019. Sophie loves being an Optometrist as she is passionate about providing the best care to all her patients. She has keen interest in managing ocular pathology, managing dry eye patients and speciality contact lenses (in particular, Othokeratology) Sophie loves coming to work each day and getting to know her patients. She believes the most rewarding part of her job is being able to provide the best vision and care for every patient. Whether that be through providing new glasses or picking up an eye condition early so treatment can be started to minimise the effect on a patient’s vision. Sophie is passionate about providing eye-care in developing countries and rural regions of Australia. In 2019 she did a 6 week placement in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Jackie Prentice

Jackie obtained her Optometry Degree in New Zealand and has worked in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia since 2001. Jackie is passionate about giving the best eye care to all her patients. Her interests include ocular health, contact lenses and Orthokeratology. Jackie has completed postgraduate training in both ocular therapeutics and advanced contact lenses (rigid gas permeable, miniscleral and orthokeratology). Jackie used to compete in triathlons at an elite level however, she now has a passion for surfing, snowboarding and a new found love for photography.

Taryn Bell

Taryn began working in optics in 2018 and is an experienced allied health receptionist. Taryn and her husband are parents to 3 teenage children and 4 guinea pigs. She has a keen interest in fitness and swimming and supports her children through their competitive swimming careers. She enjoys helping patients to find the perfect frame and has a flair for colour and design.

Miranda Norton

Miranda has worked in optics for 9 years and enjoys getting to know her customers and helping them choose eyewear that will improve their day to day life. She enjoys walking, home décor and spending time with her 2 Beagilers.

Megan Downes

Megan has worked in optics for the past 13 years. She loves optics because it’s a wonderful occupation for any age group and once qualified you can work anywhere around the world. Megan finds the most rewarding part of her job is when a patient loves the glasses she has helped them choose. Finding the perfect pair for her patients is her goal. Megan enjoys cooking, exercise, kayaking, fishing and shares 2 fur babies Angus and Murphy, with her husband.

Brett Jenkinson

Brett graduated with his Optometry degree from the University of Melbourne in 2001.  Since then he has practiced in rural and metropolitan Queensland and Hobart.  He has been actively involved in professional affairs, being a past president of Optometry Tasmania and since 2017 a Director of Provision Eyecare which is an orginisation that provides support to independent Optometry practices.

Brett established Fresh Vision Optometrists in 2017 when he returned to Brisbane to take over the long standing practice of Kay and David Webster in Everton Park and expanded it to Maroochydore in 2019 when he purchased Brian Davey successful practice there.
