Brett Jenkinson - Optometrist & Business owner

Hi, I’m Brett — optometrist, owner of Fresh Vision, and someone who genuinely loves the puzzle of getting vision exactly right.

With 25 years of experience and a degree from the University of Melbourne, I’ve built my career around the more complex side of optometry — particularly contact lens fitting, Ortho-K (lenses you wear overnight to reshape your vision), and dry eye treatment. These are areas where taking time really matters, and that’s something we take seriously at Fresh Vision.

Fresh Vision has two homes. Our Everton Park practice was formerly run by the wonderful Kay and David Webster, and our Maroochydore practice carries on the legacy of Brian Davey. We’re proud to continue serving the communities these optometrists built such strong relationships with over the years.

Outside the practice, I sit on the board of Provision Eyecare — a support company for independent optometrists across Australia — and I teach contact lens fitting to the next generation of optometrists at QUT. It keeps me sharp, and I love it.

At Fresh Vision, we use the latest technology to make sure you leave with the clearest, most comfortable vision possible. Whether it’s your first visit or your fifteenth, you’ll always get my full attention.

Hi, I’m Simon Little – Optometrist. I began my career as an Optical Dispenser before graduating in Optometry from The City University (now City St George’s, University of London) in 1987. I later completed an MSc at the University of Bradford and a PhD at QUT, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics in 2008.

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to combine clinical practice with academic work. I’ve lectured at the University of Manchester and the University of Bradford, presented to professional organisations in the UK and internationally, and worked in hospital settings including St James’s University Hospital in Leeds and Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. I also served as an examiner for The College of Optometrists in the UK.

For 19 years, until late 2025, I owned and operated an independent practice in North Lakes, while also providing care to patients in Emerald, Mackay, Moranbah and Rockhampton. I’m now semi-retired and consult at Fresh Vision Optometrists in Maroochydore, as well as working part-time as a Sessional Academic at QUT.

I’m an Aligned Optometrist with the Queensland Children’s Hospital and a CASA Credentialed Optometrist, supporting both community eye care and aviation safety.

Outside of optometry, I enjoy time with my family, walking on the beach, paddling my surf ski, mountain biking, and attempting to master the guitar.

Sophie Wellington - Optometrist

Hi, I’m Sophie. I am an Optometrist at Fresh Vision Maroochydore. I’ve been practising optometry on the Sunshine Coast for seven years and bring a wealth of experience and care to my patients. I consult at our clinic on Wednesdays, and on other days I work within the ophthalmology sector, including two days a week at the public hospital caring for glaucoma patients.

I’m passionate about eye health, with a special interest in glaucoma and diabetes management, and I enjoy seeing patients of all ages with a wide range of eye care needs.

When I’m not helping patients, I love relaxing at the beach, diving into a good book, and spending quality time with friends and family

I always aim to make every patient feel comfortable and well cared for.

Hi, I’m Jackie, I’m an Optometrist at Fresh Vision Maroochydore. I’ve been passionate about eye care since graduating from the University of Auckland in 2000. Over the years, I’ve worked in both corporate and independent optometry practices across South Australia, Queensland, and New South Wales, gaining experience with a wide variety of patients and eye conditions.

I also collaborate with a local ophthalmology practice, assisting with patient assessments and post-operative reviews. This has given me valuable experience in managing complex eye conditions and strengthens the care I provide in my own practice.

My professional interests include ocular pathology and all types of contact lenses. I’ve completed postgraduate certificates in ocular therapeutics and advanced contact lenses, which allows me to prescribe treatments for conditions such as glaucoma and eye infections. I particularly enjoy working with specialty lenses, including mini-scleral lenses, RGP lenses, and orthokeratology (Ortho-K), helping patients achieve the best possible vision.

I take pride in conducting thorough, personalised eye examinations, explaining findings clearly, and making sure my patients understand their options. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me surfing, running, or snowboarding—though I’m still perfecting my snowboarding! I’ve also recently discovered a love for landscape photography, which gives me another way to appreciate the world I’m helping my patients see clearly.
